The kinetic sculptures The Chorus Hands by artist Jasleen Kaur trigger synchronized bell sequences in exhibitions at Tramway Glasgow and Tate Britain. On a long ribbon-like stage dressed in satin, a series of kinetic sculptures resembling gesturing hands ring with worship bells, seemingly both keeping rhythm and setting it. These large scale, musical sculptures tap automatically in syncopated rhythms, the bells holding a pulse for the space, moving to faster paced, ecstatic rhythms.
